Job summary

NW Staffing LLC, doing business as Express Rx, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for our retail pharmacy team. You will assist pharmacists, process prescriptions, greet customers, and help maintain a smooth daily operation. You must have a high school diploma or GED and be registered with the state board.

Prior retail pharmacy experience and strong math and communication skills are highly valued. This is a fast-paced role with emphasis on accuracy and patient service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• State Board of Pharmacy registration required.
• Experience as Pharmacy Technician in a retail environment preferred.
• National Certification is an asset.
• Strong math, communication and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists in the safe distribution of medications and the provision of pharmaceutical care.
• Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening
• Greet customers and answer questions
• Receive prescriptions and check their validity
• Enter and process prescriptions into the pharmacy system, where permitted by pharmacy regulations, and only at the direction of the supervising pharmacist after their review of the prescription in accordance with Company policy and federal/state regulations
• Ensure all information regarding patient and prescription is complete and accurate
• Resolve issues when they arise, e.g., rejected insurance claims
• Select the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions
• Sort, stock, label medication and monitor inventory
• Undertake administrative tasks, e.g., record-keeping, as needed
• Comply with all security measures and quality standards
• Other work tasks as assigned by Management
