SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician prepares, packages, and distributes medications and pharmaceutical supplies.

1. Assist patients at point-of-sale.
2. Collect money, provide patients with a receipt, and prepare daily cash deposits consistently.
3. Maintain the cleanliness of the prescription pharmacy in an organized manner.
4. Report and/or forward operational issues to leadership and use reporting utilities appropriately to expedite resolutions.
5. Review physicians' orders and transcribe required information into patients' computerized drug profiles when appropriate.
6. Control inventory and order medications based on PAR levels.
7. Ensure medications are in date by performing monthly inspections of assigned areas.
8. Return medications to stock in patients' profiles when appropriate.
9. Greet customers courteously and professionally.
10. Utilize AIDET at all times.
11. Answer telephones with appropriate greeting and efficiency.
12. Assemble patients' medications for the pharmacist to check.
13. Assist leadership in implementing workflows, process improvement initiatives, and organizational directives.
14. Float to other pharmacies as needed, as determined by leadership.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program (Preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• 2 or more years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician (Preferred).
• Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacist Intern licensed with the State of Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
• PTCB certification preferred.
