Inova Loudoun Hospital Retail Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Retail Pharmacy Technician 2 to promote meds to bed services and improve discharge workflows to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday - Friday, occasional weekends and holidays. Every other weekend.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a pharmacy technician.
• High School or GED.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in Virginia or Pharmacy intern license. BLS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing medications and supplies.
• Clean equipment and maintain all required temperature logs according to system policies and procedures.
• Check medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products and record in the Expiring Medication logbook.
• Perform computer entry of prescription information including patient/prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation/entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Prepare medications for clients through mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.

Retail Pharmacy Technician 2 J ob Responsibilities:

• Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing medications and supplies.

• Performs computer entry of prescription information including, but not limited to, patient/prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation/entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Prepares medications for clients through mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience: One (1) year experience as a pharmacy technician.

• Education: High School or GED.

• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience: Two (2) years of Retail Pharmacy Technician experience.
