Job summary

Inova Retail and Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a dedicated Retail Pharmacy Technician 2 to join the team at Inova Stonecroft, Chantilly, VA. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday with days/evenings rotating shifts; weekends occasionally. High School diploma or GED required, VA tech license or intern license, and BLS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing medications and supplies.
• Clean equipment and maintain all required temperature logs per policy.
• Check medication/inventory for out-of-date products and record in Expiring Medication log book.
• Enter prescription information into computer systems: patient/prescriber lookup, drug selection, entry, insurance claims.

Inova Retail and Specialty Pharmacy is seeking a dedicatedRetail Pharmacy Technician 2 to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday – Friday, days/evenings rotating shifts. Occasional weekend .

Work schedule: 8-hour shift (days/evenings rotating shift. Every other weekend.)

Education:

High School or GED.

Certification:

Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience: Two (2) years of Retail Pharmacy Technician experience .

• Assists the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling and dispensing medications and supplies.
• Cleans equipment and maintains all required temperature logs according to system policies and procedures.
• Checks medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products, removes products from inventory and works with the appropriate resource to record out of date products in the Expiring Medication log book.
• Performs computer entry of prescription information including, but not limited to, patient/prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation/entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Prepares medications for clients through mixing medications, counting pills, and labeling bottles.
