Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, a member of the Optum family, seeks a pharmacist for overseeing retail operations at Houston sites. In the absence of the Retail Pharmacy Manager, you will manage pharmacy operations, ensure compliance, and deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include dispensing, counseling, inventory management, policy adherence, and staff training, with a focus on customer service and profitability across the designated site.

Qualifications

• BS or Pharm D College of Pharmacy.
• Current Texas Pharmacy License.
• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience.
• Ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions.
• Communication - Proven ability to communicate with Pharmacy Department personnel to delegate duties, inform about policies, train, assist with performance appraisals, and approve refunds/expense/returns.
• Stress Tolerance - Proven ability to accurately process prescriptions within the required amount of time.
• Demonstrated professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Retail Pharmacy Manager manages all retail pharmacy operations for designated site and hourly pharmacy personnel.
• Performs professional duties and responsibilities, associated with the processing of prescriptions, to meet objectives and maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Ensures prompt and courteous customer service by all pharmacy personnel.
• Responsible for the profitable operation of the designated retail pharmacy including managing COGs to budget and inventory.
• Implementation and adherence of policies and procedures; responds to communications in a timely manner.
• Adherence to federal and state Pharmacy laws; may serve as Pharmacist-in-charge for licensing agreements.
• Proper ordering and stocking of inventory; maintain quantities and reorder points.
• Promotes training and education of staff and assigned students; witness for counseling as needed.
• Ensures immunizations and documentation are maintained in EMR and pharmacy systems; maintain medication synchronization.
• Engagement of pharmacy technicians and service reps with initiatives.
• Maintaining and growing prescription volume; attend meetings as designated.
