Job summary

PetSmart’s Process Leader (Retail Operations Manager) drives operational excellence across store operations, including merchandising, inventory, pet care, opening/closing, and leadership of associates. This role monitors financial outcomes, prioritizes safety and compliance, and supports a culture of teamwork and service.

The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coaches associates on operational processes to ensure pet safety and store standards.
• Oversees merchandising, inventory management, pricing, and planogram execution.
• Manages staffing coverage and labor planning for pivotal store activities.
• Ensures a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers and responds to incidents.
• Drives store P&L outcomes, analyzes sales trends, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Maintains vendor relationships, backroom standards, and communication boards.
