Total Wine & More in West Orange, NJ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to grow the brand by delivering best-in-class service and building a thriving sales culture. You will report to the Store Manager and help drive store operations, staffing, inventory, and customer experience.

You will lead a team, recruit and train staff, manage scheduling, and uphold compliance with alcohol laws. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent retail leadership experience is preferred, with 1–3 years in a supervisory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of work experience, 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role in retail.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs).
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team and develop product knowledge.
• Support day-to-day operations including payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink.
• Lead by example to deliver outstanding customer service and resolve issues.
• Maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives.
• Ensure adherence to laws related to alcohol sale and a safe store environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
