Job summary

PetSmart's Process Lead (Retail Operations Lead) has shared responsibility to drive operational excellence in our stores while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role oversees merchandising and inventory management, pet care operations, opening and/or closing the store, supervising associates, and maintaining a safe, organized environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• People Leadership: support and guide sales associates, train on product knowledge and presentation standards, mentor and coach for growth.
• Delegate and validate completion of daily tasks; lead during leader-on-duty shifts; address associate concerns and recognize engagement.
• Store Operations: execute merchandising strategies, manage inventory, conduct audits, and analyze sales trends for replenishment and markdown decisions.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash transactions with accuracy and policy compliance.
• Maintain store standards and uphold Policies, Procedures, and Code of Ethics; assist with opening/closing procedures; complete monthly live cycle counts.
• Pet care: ensure health and care of pets, maintain cleanliness and care standards, and manage online order pickups in-store or ship-from-store.
