Job summary

Dick’s Sporting Goods in Dayton, OH seeks an Assistant Store Manager of Operations to lead frontline and back-of-house execution in a fast-paced retail environment. You will coach teammates, optimize processes, and uphold service standards to deliver an exceptional athlete experience.

You’ll collaborate with the Store Manager to forecast growth, manage staffing, and drive programs like merchandising, loyalty, and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience.
• 1-3 of retail management experience (or customer-focused experience).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Store Manager to develop and execute annual growth plans, forecasts, and 90+ day plans.
• Directly manages a team of Captains (Supervisors) and guides broader store staff through coaching and development.
• Upholds merchandising and presentation standards, executes floor sets, pricing changes, inventory, and customer programs.
• Leads training initiatives, cross-training, and development plans for teammates and leaders.
• Partners with Store Manager on staffing, payroll, and scheduling to meet budget and traffic needs.
• Oversees hiring decisions for Captain/Supervisor roles and contributes to selection for hourly staff.
• Ensures safety, policy adherence, and a welcoming, respectful store environment.
