Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods in Columbus, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager of Operations to lead running a fast-paced store floor and back-of-house operations. You will coach Captains and teammates, optimize processes, and ensure an exceptional athlete experience across all operations.

You will manage staffing, payroll, and scheduling in alignment with budgets, while upholding safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years experience.
• 1-3 of retail management experience (or customer-focused experience).

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Store Manager to develop and execute annual growth plans, forecasting and 90+ days out.
• Directly manages a team of Captains (Supervisors) and coaches broader store team; accountable for performance reviews and promotions.
• Upholds merchandising standards and customer service; drives loyalty programs and product knowledge.
• Leads training initiatives; ensures teammates are trained to deliver elevated athlete experiences.
• Partners with Store Manager on staffing plans and oversees payroll and schedules.
• Hires and builds teams; sources, recruits, and interviews teammates; makes hiring decisions for Captain and hourly roles.
• Ensures compliance with safety, loss prevention and SOPs; maintains respectful store environment.

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent

1-3 years experience
