Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Retail Operations Lead to drive store excellence across merchandising, inventory and pet care operations. You will oversee associates, maintain safety and a welcoming store environment, and support the store in meeting its goals.

The role requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and a hands-on leader who can open or close the store and mentor staff. Health benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• People Leadership: Train, onboard, mentor, coach, and provide feedback to associates.
• Store Operations: Execute merchandising strategies, manage inventory, conduct audits, and recommend stock replenishment.
• POS & Cash: Operate POS systems and handle cash transactions per policy.
• Policy & Culture: Maintain store standards and uphold Policies, Procedures, and Code of Ethics.
• Opening/Closing: Share responsibility for opening and closing procedures and lead on duty when needed.
