Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to drive operational excellence in our stores, overseeing merchandising, inventory management, pet care operations, and financial outcomes. You will lead associates, handle opening/closing, and ensure a safe, organized environment that aligns with our values and strategy.

The role emphasizes people leadership, accountability for store performance, and collaboration with Home Office partners to execute store initiatives and improve the overall guest

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Participates in employment decisions such as recruiting, interviewing, and coaching.
• Facilitates the associate experience and supports associate development across the store.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances.
• Prioritize, delegate, and validate daily tasks for associates to meet business and pet parent needs.
• Lead and coach associates on proper operational processes to ensure pet safety and health.
• Coordinate staffing coverage for pivotal store activities.
• Communicate company information and priorities to associates to ensure alignment.
• Recognize and celebrate associates driving engagement.
• Oversee healthcare of store-owned pets and care for habitats.
• Manage inventory, pricing processes and planner/planogram sets.
• Identify sales trends and merchandise accordingly.
• Maintain store standards and compliance with policies.
