Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Devils Lake, ND is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service and team development.

You will assist with opening and closing procedures, merchandise handling, staffing, and maintaining a safe, clean store environment while delivering friendly service to customers.

This role emphasizes leadership, clear communication, and hands-on problem solving to help the store meet goals and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of lifting, walking, standing, and repetitive motions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and keep store orderly.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and payroll/scheduling records.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
