Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC in Fargo seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily tasks, organize merchandise, supervise associates, and ensure a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail setting. You will support opening/closing procedures and uphold company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked and organized store areas to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure staff follow them.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
• Ensure store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
