Job summary

Family Dollar in Duncan, Oklahoma is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and develop team members. You will assist with merchandising, inventory, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a welcoming, safe store environment.

The role emphasizes leadership, training, and adherence to company policies, with responsibilities including opening/closing procedures, promoting promotional displays, and ensuring cleanliness

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms and floor maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
