Job summary

Family Dollar in Oklahoma is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandising, opening/closing, and compliance with company policies, while training and guiding Store Associates.

The role requires strong communication, physical stamina for lifting up to 55 lbs, and a ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drugstore environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy and other store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure Associates follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, Associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
