Job summary

Big Lots in Shelby Township, MI is seeking an Assistant Manager/Key Carrier to provide excellent customer service and support the Store Manager in operating the store to meet company goals.

You will help hire, train and develop team members, supervise daily store activities, and ensure opening/closing procedures are executed when the Store Manager is not available. The role requires energy, teamwork and a strong commitment to store integrity.

Qualifications

• Retail management experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Full-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training and development of store team members.
• Support store operations and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of Store Manager.
• Protect company assets, including cash, and follow security policies.
• Maintain store and stockroom to company standards.
• Ensure the sales floor is replenished and sales effective daily.
