Job summary

Big Lots is seeking an Assistant Manager/Key Carrier to elevate customer service and support the Store Manager in operating the store efficiently. You will help lead the team, manage daily tasks, and ensure safe, welcoming shopping experiences.

The role requires previous retail or leadership experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with hiring, training and development.
• Support day-to-day store operations as directed.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Protect assets including store cash and security.
• Maintain professional environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards.
• Direct hourly team members when the Store Manager is away.
• Process corporate directives and merchandise flow.
• Meet productivity standards and ensure merchandise is stocked and presented.
