Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, oversee guest service, and develop the team. You will assist with merchandising, schedules, opening and closing procedures, and ensure compliance with company policies.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs. You will work in a fast-paced environment, coach store associates, and uphold safety and audit standards while delivering a friendly shopping

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
