Job summary

maurices is seeking a Manager in Training (MIT) to partner with the store manager and teams to hit sales goals and uphold a customer-focused environment. The MIT will participate in a training program designed to prepare for a Store Manager position within 3–6 months.

The role requires relocation to a new store or group of stores and active involvement in all training modules while performing managerial duties on the team.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; business/retail merchandising degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment; fashion industry preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving and executing company direction.
• Experience hiring, promoting, and motivating talent.
• Ability to lead by example, make sound decisions, and stay professional.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Diligence and perseverance; able to handle setbacks.
• Must commit to a specific store location or group of stores.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in achieving sales goals and driving a customer-focused environment.
• Deliver fashion knowledge and product expertise to customers.
• Lead by example through customer service training resources.
• Manage payroll hours to support business needs and profitability.
• Direct team in executing promotional changes and visual standards.
• Prepare schedules based on business needs and traffic patterns.
• Recruit, hire, and develop talent; nurture succession planning.
• Provide timely feedback and accountability to team.
