Job summary

maurices is seeking a Manager in Training (MIT) who will work with the store manager and team to reach sales goals and deliver exceptional customer service. The MIT participates in a training program to become a Store Manager within 3–6 months, with relocation to a store group as needed.

The role emphasizes talent management, schedule planning, and operational execution while supporting store performance and profitability. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; a business or retail merchandising degree preferred.
• Supervisory experience required in a customer focused environment; experience in the fashion industry preferred.
• Proven track record of achieving and setting goals and executing company direction.
• Experience in hiring, promoting, and motivating talent.
• Proven ability to lead by example, make sound decisions, and demonstrate professionalism.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Diligence and the ability to persevere in the face of resistance or setbacks.
• Must commit to a specific store location or a group of new and existing stores.

Responsibilities

• Customer Obsession: create a customer-focused store environment and drive sales.
• Lead by example and train team on fashion knowledge, product knowledge, and service.
• Drive sales by analyzing store performance and adjusting plans.
• Manage payroll hours to support business needs and profitability.
• Schedule staff with business traffic in mind to maximize sales.
• Hire, train, and develop talent; build a strong successor pipeline.
• Provide timely feedback and accountability for team performance.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and HR guidelines.
