Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Shortage Control Associate to help maintain a secure shopping environment while delivering friendly customer service. You will monitor front entrances, exits and high‑risk areas, greet customers with a warm smile, and support theft‑prevention initiatives.

This role requires the ability to stand for long periods, communicate clearly, and report incidents to the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor the store environment.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas to reduce theft opportunities.
• Greet customers with a confident, friendly, energetic greeting and eye contact.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Assist in training associates on shortage reduction programs.
• Conduct bag and package checks in accordance with safety and security standards.
