Job summary

Rural King is seeking an Assistant Store Manager Trainee to develop the leadership and operational skills needed to advance to an Assistant Store Manager. The role provides hands-on training in retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory, and associate development.

The Trainee will partner with the Store Manager to support store operations, develop associates, deliver excellent customer service, and drive business results.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail leadership, management, or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations, sales, inventory, merchandising, pricing, scheduling, and store performance.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and appealing store environment, including displays and equipment.
• Support inventory accuracy, cash handling, shrink reduction, loss prevention, and company initiatives.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of associates.
• Provide direction, feedback, motivation, and recognition while holding associates to expectations.
• Lead by example and promote a positive, team-focused work environment.
• Build leadership and business skills for promotion to Assistant Store Manager.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and address customer and associate questions or concerns.
• Support customer engagement, promotions, loyalty programs, and community activities.
• Operate retail equipment and participate in cross-training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
