Job summary

Rural King seeks an Assistant Store Manager Trainee in Knoxville to develop leadership and operational skills for advancement to Store Manager. You'll gain hands-on training in retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory, and associate development while supporting daily store performance.

The role involves leading by example, coaching associates, and delivering exceptional service, with relocation or commuting to one of three area stores upon promotion.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail leadership or supervisory experience.
• Willingness to relocate or commute to one of three area stores upon promotion.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and development of associates.
• Experience with retail operations, sales, merchandising, inventory, and customer service.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations, sales, inventory, merchandising, pricing, scheduling, and store performance.
• Maintain a safe, organized store environment, including displays and equipment.
• Support inventory accuracy, cash handling, shrink reduction, loss prevention, and company initiatives.
• Follow company policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Recruit, interview, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of associates.
• Provide direction, feedback, motivation, and recognition while holding associates accountable.
• Lead by example and promote a positive, team-focused work environment.
• Build leadership and business skills to transition into an Assistant Store Manager role.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve questions or concerns.
• Engage customers with promotions, loyalty programs, and community activities.
• Operate store equipment and participate in cross-training.
