Job summary

LLGI seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Springfield, IL to assist the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, including donations processing, sales, staff management, and loss control. The role is developmental with an eye toward advancement to a Manager position.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year in a leadership role (retail preferred), and occasional travel. CPR/First Aid or the ability to obtain certification within six months is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of leadership/oversight experience, preferably in retail.
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within six months.
• Occasional travel to other stores and job sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Direct activities of staff and volunteers to ensure accurate sales and donations processing.
• Promote the organization’s mission, vision, and values and diversity.
• Train, coach, and provide feedback to staff to strengthen skills.
• Assist in recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and coaching.
• Manage store budget in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Perform bank deposits and cash-handling duties as needed.
