Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Command is seeking a Manager-in-Training (MIT) in the Kansas City Metro Area. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week program provides hands-on leadership development across thrift store operations, sales, customer service, and financial accountability to prepare you for store leadership roles.

Participants may advance to Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or Lead Sales Associate based on performance and needs across 11 Kansas City stores.

Qualifications

• Retail supervisory or management experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership potential and commitment to growth.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel within the Kansas City Metro Area for training.

Responsibilities

• participate in a structured 12-week MIT program to prepare for store leadership.
• gain hands-on experience in thrift store operations, team leadership, sales, production, and financial accountability.
• develop skills for future roles such as Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
