Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center Command in the Kansas City Metro Area is seeking candidates for the Manager-in-Training (MIT) program. This structured 12-week leadership development initiative prepares high-potential individuals for store leadership opportunities across our thrift operations.

MIT participants rotate through multiple locations, gaining hands-on experience in team leadership, sales growth, production management, customer service, and financial accountability, with

Qualifications

2 years' experience in staff management and development or combination of education and experience
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Proficiency in cash handling and basic financial management
Flexible schedule availability including early/late shifts, weekends, and holidays
English communication proficiency
Valid Driver's License and ability to travel for training

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of operating thrift stores including team leadership, sales growth, production management, customer service, and financial accountability
Train across multiple Kansas City metro stores to gain broad exposure
Potential placement into Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or Lead Sales Associate after program
