Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help keep a clean, organized store focused on the customer. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, handle merchandising, documentation and deposits, stock and cashier duties, and assist in profitability and loss prevention.

You will support scheduling, training, and safety compliance, and help maintain planograms and financial integrity in the store, including refunds, cash counts, and bank deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation with cash handling ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, stock, and display rotations.
• Maintain accurate inventory controls and monitor damages and markdowns.
