Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to uphold a clean, customer-first store environment. You will assist the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandise presentation, and deposit preparation while performing stocking and cashiering duties to maximize profits and reduce losses.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety adherence, planogram implementation, and maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Ability to operate cash register and scanner and generate reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and building displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Assist with planograms and ensure merchandise is presented as directed.
• Maintain financial integrity with cashier accountability, cash control, and deposits; assist in refunds and overrides.
