Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store daily. You will support supervision, merchandise presentation, deposits, and Loss prevention while protecting assets and maximizing profitability.

The role involves stocking, cashiering, and assisting with staff training, scheduling, and planograms under the Store Manager by leveraging strong communication and organization skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service, cash handling and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling training and safety meetings for employees.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cash control and deposits.
• Assist in managing store in the Store Manager's absence.
