Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and prepare deposits.

You will assist with scheduling, training, safety, inventory control, planograms, cash handling, and store operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and safety rules.
• Cash handling and balance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, displays and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Oversee cashier accountability, cash control and bank deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
