Job summary

Citi Trends is a leading off-price retailer of apparel, accessories, and home trends dedicated to delivering great style and amazing brands at exceptional prices. This role supports the Store Manager, drives sales performance, and helps develop store associates.

As Assistant Store Manager you will recruit, onboard, coach, and retain staff, oversee inventory and cash handling, ensure compliance with policies, and maintain a safe, organized shopping environment while delivering an outstanding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer experience standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training.
• Help maintain appropriate staffing levels through recruiting and retention efforts.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Maintain a safe, organized, customer-focused store environment.
• Reinforce adherence to policies, loss prevention.
• Support merchandising, operational, and visual standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
