Job summary

Citi Trends is a leading off-price retailer seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and lead a team. You will partner with the Store Manager to drive sales, maintain operational excellence, and assist with hiring, onboarding, and development of store associates.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring customer service standards are met while maintaining compliance and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer service standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver service.
• Assist with inventory control, inventory transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding and training of store associates.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to associates.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Support staffing and recruitment efforts and employee retention.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support store operations.
