Citi Trends in Durham, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, lead a small team, and drive sales while maintaining store standards.

You will assist with hiring, onboarding, coaching, inventory control, and customer service excellence, functioning closely with the Store Manager to develop talent and deliver an outstanding shopping experience. The role requires a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.
• Customer-focused execution and operational accountability.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer experience standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and procedures.
• Supervise associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and service.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Maintain staffing levels through recruiting and retention efforts.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Support merchandising, visual standards, and loss prevention.
