Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking an experienced store leader to manage retail teams and drive revenue while ensuring exceptional donor, shopper, and partner experience. You will oversee inventory, donations flow, and safety compliance, coaching staff to deliver top-tier service.

The role emphasizes team leadership, operational excellence, and partnership with the community, with a focus on growth, engagement, and adhering to company standards.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of successful leadership in a retail or service environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus 3–5 years of management experience in retail or similar environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic math and computer skills including spreadsheets and POS systems.
• Personal vehicle required for cash deposits.
• Flexibility to work seven days per week.
• Proven ability to coach and develop store team members to deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coaches and trains all direct reports in the business unit.
• Creates an atmosphere of ongoing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Manages inventory levels of all merchandise lines and oversees quality to optimize revenue.
• Monitors and ensures a smooth flow of donations following safety and state laws.
• Performs bookkeeping, payroll-related tasks, and reporting.
• Maintains professional email, phone and in-person communications.
• Understands local competition and adapts to market changes.
• Ensures presentation and merchandising standards on the sales floor.
• Maintains a safe environment for customers and employees; enforces safety procedures.
• Follows company policies and participates in special projects and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supervises retail and production staff including assistant managers and team leads.
