Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA seeks a Sales Floor Lead to support daily store operations and drive sales performance in Chalmette. You will supervise as assigned, manage cash register tasks, and ensure a clean, inviting store environment.

The role requires teamwork, strong English communication, flexible scheduling including nights and weekends, and the ability to mentor Sales Floor Associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months supervisory experience or 90 days in service industry.
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Retail or service industry experience preferred.
• Retail training completion required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operation and meet budget.
• Process payments, voids, returns, exchanges and credits.
• Ensure proper rotation of store merchandise.
• Act as a positive role model for staff.
• Stock the sales floor and maintain presentation.
• Maintain safe and clean shopping areas.
• Keep store clean and hazard-free, bathrooms included.
• Observe safety policies and ensure compliance.
• Perform duties of Sales Floor Associates.
• Attend regularly scheduled shifts.
• Complete floor checks and monthly safety inspections.
• Onboard new hires within first week.
• Assist manager in controlling expenses.
• Assist in training and mentoring associates and community workers.
• Assist supervising and recommending discharge.
• Monitor receiving, pricing and displaying merchandise.
• Record and balance cash receipts, deposits, and store transactions.
• Assist in payroll record preparation.
• Complete other paperwork and miscellaneous duties.
