Job summary

Goodwill of Northern Illinois is seeking a full-time Retail Manager–on-duty level to support sales, donations, and merchandising in Sterling, IL. The role emphasizes customer service, operations oversight, and inventory control in a fast-paced store setting.

The position requires a flexible schedule with weekend/evening shifts, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining store standards and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in computer skills including basic Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Understands and can work in any store function – sales, donation, textiles, and wares.
• Merchandises store effectively through displays and end caps for a sales floor.
• Acts as expert in assigned area of the store and oversees merchandising, quality control, and operations.
• Supports inventory process according to organizational guidelines.
• Operates as manager on duty, handles calls, covers shifts, answers questions, replenishes goods, opens/closes store, and follows banking procedures.
• Leads flow and inventory of donated, new, and seasonal goods.
• Promotes exceptional customer service through effective communication.
