Job summary

Coastal Farm & Ranch in Albany, OR seeks a department leader responsible for driving exceptional customer service, product knowledge and merchandising in a designated department such as Hardlines, Animal Health, Cashier, Clothing/Boots, or Material Handling.

The role includes operating a forklift, loading merchandise into customer vehicles, training associates, and overseeing daily department operations. You will greet customers, answer questions, and maintain product knowledge and promotions.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a retail environment.
• Experience operating a POS system.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments and shift priorities.
• Familiar with how to operate a computer system and email.
• Familiar with standard retail concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead associates to maintain excellent customer service, product knowledge and merchandising in assigned department.
• Operate forklift and propane dispensing as required.
• Greet and assist customers, answer questions and help locate products.
• Oversee daily department operations including merchandising, displays, signage and inventory levels.
• Train new associates on systems, procedures and product knowledge.
• Create and implement daily worklists and goals for store staff.
