Job summary

Coastal Farm in Redmond, WA is seeking a department leader to uphold exceptional customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising across Hardlines, Animal Health, Cashier, Clothing/Boots, or Material Handling.

You will greet customers, oversee daily operations, train associates, set daily goals, and stand in for Store Managers when scheduled. The role requires retail experience, strong communication, and adaptability to fast-changing environments.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working in a retail environment.
• Experience operating a POS system.
• Experience operating Eagle Browser.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing work environments and to shift priorities accordingly.
• Familiar with how to operate a computer system and email.
• Familiar with standard retail concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge every customer, answer questions, and help locate products.
• Oversee daily department operations: merchandising, displays, signage, inventory levels.
• Train new associates on systems, procedures, and product knowledge.
• Create and implement daily worklists and goals for store associates.
• Assume duties of Store Manager and Assistant Store Managers when scheduled.
• Open and close the store as needed and scheduled.
• Lead store meetings and objectives.
• Answer incoming phone calls.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Coastal Farm products.
• Maintain product knowledge and promotions awareness.
• Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and housekeeping.
