Job summary

Family Dollar in New London, NC is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a friendly, efficient shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions at the register, and help with stocking and merchandise recovery.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, unloading trucks when needed, and upholding a positive, respectful environment for customers and teammates. Preferred qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, prior retail or service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintenance of store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and general neatness
