Job summary

Family Dollar in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide a friendly shopping experience. You will assist customers with questions and recommendations, process sales at the register, and help maintain a clean and organized store.

You should have a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, prior retail or service experience, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, with a commitment to safety and courtesy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading and stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, and trash areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
