Job summary

G&M Oil Company Inc. is seeking a customer-focused store associate to join our retail team in California. You will handle sales at the register, verify IDs for restricted items, and help maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.

The role requires basic math, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. You will stock shelves, assist with food preparation per store procedures, and support promotions to meet sales goals.

Qualifications

• Excellent computer skills / competency in PDI Enterprise POS (evaluation required).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn simple tasks quickly and work with little or no supervision.
• Basic math skills.
• Food Handlers Permit, if required by store/county.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in English.
• Have open availability to work all shifts as needed at home store and other stores within district when the need arises.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service according to G&M corporate standards and management instruction.
• Enter all transactions into the register, accept payments and account for all funds.
• Operate POS and handle money accurately.
• Perform service transactions per company policy (credit cards, coupons, liquor/lighted sales).
• Adhere to laws affecting store operations and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Stock shelves and receive deliveries, ensuring product availability and proper rotation.
• Maintain backroom organization and assist with food preparation as designated by Store Manager.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in promotions and team-building activities.
