Job summary

Dollar Tree in Richmond, VA is seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, process transactions at the register, and help with stock replenishment and receiving merchandise.

You will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment, following instructions with accuracy and showing strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role is part-time and requires physical effort including lifting and standing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
