Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team. You will assist customers with questions, manage transactions at the register, and help keep the store stocked and clean. The role emphasizes safe, respectful interactions and adherence to productivity standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior retail or service experience is preferred. Physical tasks include lifting 30–50 lbs and long periods of standing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in customer service in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store preferred
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and frequent walking/standing
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required
• Strong organizational and communication skills required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness
• Other duties as assigned*
