Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Indiana LLC is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle transactions, stock shelves, receive merchandise, and help unload trucks while maintaining store cleanliness and safety.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, reliable teamwork, and the ability to lift and move items, with opportunities to grow within a retail environment in East Chicago.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and assist with unloading trucks; stock replenishment per productivity standards.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Keep store clean, restrooms stocked, floors swept/mopped, trash removed, and areas neat.
• Other duties as assigned.
