Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller with Retail industry experience to join our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice in Wisconsin. You will act as Controller for designated clients, advising on accounting and finance best practices and mentoring staff to deliver tailored back-office solutions.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, management reports, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policies and standards. Travel to client sites will be frequent as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 7 years of relevant controller experience.
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Restaurant franchise experience highly preferred.
• Aptitude for accounting software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for designated clients in the Retail sector.
• Advise on best practices for accounting and finance engagements.
• Mentor staff and design back-office solutions.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements with recommendations.
• Prepare management reporting packages for Boards and executives.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, accounting standards, and directives.
