Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller with Retail industry experience to join our Client Accounting and Advisory Services practice in Sheboygan, WI. You will act as the controller for designated clients, advising on accounting best practices and financial reporting.

This role emphasizes mentoring staff, preparing financial statements, and delivering management reporting to boards, with travel as needed to client sites.

Qualifications

• 7 years of relevant accounting/financial experience required.
• Retail industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Take on the role of consultant and advisor to clients on accounting and finance engagements.
• Mentor staff and seniors within your team and assist in designing back-office solutions.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Prepare management reporting packages to aid boards in understanding financial results.
• Attend industry events and trainings to build expertise.
• Maintain knowledge of client policies, state/federal directives, and accounting standards.
