Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller with Retail industry experience to join the Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice in Green Bay, WI. The role focuses on acting as the Controller for designated clients, advising on accounting best practices, and mentoring staff within the team.

You will prepare and analyze financial statements, develop management reporting packages, and stay current with policies and accounting standards while traveling locally as needed.

Qualifications

• 7 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience; experience in retail is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting/Finance or related field). A combination of education, training and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Controller for the designated clients you service.
• Take on the role of consultant and advisor to your clients on best practices for accounting and finance-related engagements.
• Mentor the staff and seniors within your team and assist in designing customized back-office solutions for clients.
• Prepare and analyze client financial statements and make recommendations.
• Prepare management reporting packages to assist management teams and Boards with understanding their financial results.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
