Job summary

SBH Fashion in New York seeks an experienced Accounts Receivable/Chargeback Specialist to manage retailer chargebacks, disputes, and collections across major USA retailers.

You will research misapplied payments, coordinate with internal teams and customers, and drive timely receivables while ensuring accurate reconciliation and compliance. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential in this fast-paced role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with large retailers and access portals to obtain claim copies and dispute chargebacks.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with factoring and chargebacks.
• Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred; experience may substitute for degree.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Exenta/Simparel/BlueCherry) is a plus.
• Factoring process knowledge is required or helpful.
• Strong Excel capabilities and analytical skills are essential.
• Experience with retailer portals (Amazon, Belk, Kohls, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Walmart) is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research and dispute customer chargebacks at wholesale level (shortages, cost differences, shipping violations, EDI violations, etc.).
• Make recommendations for better adherence to customer compliance.
• Correspond with customers regarding timely collections of receivables and chargebacks.
• Negotiate and review all chargebacks for repayment or credit.
• Review weekly status reports with management.
• Communicate internally with Customer Operations, Sales, Logistics and directly with customers to resolve open claims.
• Work with the warehouse to ensure chargeback-related issues and returns process compliance.
• Process reconciliation, cash application, chargebacks, and write-offs with management approval.
• Research misapplied cash and unidentified payments by contacting customers.
• Work with Factor on invoice dispute notifications (provide invoice copies, PODs, etc.).
