Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio is seeking a Cashier/Sales Floor Associate in Perry Township. The role involves handling customer transactions, stocking the floor, and building relationships with customers and donors. This is a part-time, hourly position with a focus on accuracy and friendly service.

You will operate the POS, manage cash, assist with donations, and support merchandising while upholding safety policies and the organization’s guiding principles.

Qualifications

• Cashier duties require accurate math and cash handling.
• Experience with computers preferred.
• Strong people and customer service skills.
• Retail experience preferred.
• Ability to identify clothing color shades visually.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer transactions at the POS and provide friendly service.
• Keep the store stocked and organized on the sales floor.
• Assist with donor interactions and processing donations.
• Input starting and ending cash amounts in the POS system.
• Resolve customer disputes in line with policy.
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising.
• Assist in training new personnel.
• Follow safety policies and participate in safety practices.
• End every transaction with the company motto.

Location: Perry Township, OH | Pay: $13.40 | Type: Hourly, Part-time

About the Job Join us in making a meaningful impact in Perry Township, Ohio! Be the friendly face of Goodwill. As a Cashier/Sales Floor Associate, you'll handle customer transactions, keep the store stocked, and build lasting relationships with customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Ensures 100% donor and customer satisfaction.
• Itemizes purchases on the point-of-sale (POS) system, handles cash and makes change, and implements agency programs, i.e., Round Up, Loyalty, etc.
• Utilizes POS software to input starting and ending cash amounts and maintain accurate customer records.
• Handles customer disputes, makes exchanges according to policy, and assists customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Assists in stock rotation, merchandising racks, shelves, and other displays in a presentable manner.
• Assists store team leadership in the training of new personnel.
• Assists in maintaining a clean store, such as cleaning shelves, dusting, vacuuming floors, and cleaning windows and mirrors.
• Assists with floor running, apparel rotation, and cleaning dressing rooms as needed.
• Follows all agency safety policies and guidelines. Actively participates with supervisor and team members to address identified safety concerns.
• Embodies DGR (Donated Goods Retail) MODE Guiding Principles.
• Ends every transaction with "You changed a life today, Thank you!"
• Other duties as assigned
